Johnson & Sons Paves the Way for Blessings in a Backpack

Johnson & Sons Paving, proud gold sponsor of the Bridge the Gap Gala, developed a reputation as a strong supporter of the Blessings in a Backpack Waukesha County Chapter

Johnson & Sons Paving is a commercial and residential asphalt and concrete contractor in Southeast Wisconsin. They’ve built a reputation for dependable and quality service.

They’ve also developed a reputation as a strong supporter of the Blessings in a Backpack Waukesha County Chapter. Johnson & Sons was once again a proud gold sponsor of the Bridge the Gap Gala.

Roberta Johnson has been a longtime Blessings volunteer with the program for seven years.

“I was looking for an organization to become involved with,” Roberta recalled. “I learned about Blessings, and it resonated with me. The mission is so fundamental in making sure that children don’t go hungry on the weekends!”

“After that first gala, all three of my sons gave me feedback for making the gala bigger and better. We pretty much were “in” from that point on.

She invited her family to attend the Bridge the Gap Gala, and her sons were hooked.

“After that first gala, all three of my sons gave me feedback for making the gala bigger and better. We pretty much were “in” from that point on. At the time, Johnson and Sons was a new business, only a year old. Our sons all love children and knew that this was a great organization with a mindset on ‘feeding kids.’ Our youngest son, Larry, is a partner at Hawks Quindell Law Firm, and they sponsor a table every year as well. Jason and Jeffrey generously bid on items every year, in addition to being one of the top sponsors.”

Johnson & Sons Paving not only sponsors the gala, but the company hosts an annual golf outing for its clients that includes a “fundraiser/game” on one of the holes that are dedicated to Blessings. “The outpouring of donations on that hole has been amazing,” Roberta said.
