True to its mission to make lives better in the communities it serves, Bank Five-Nine saw a tremendous opportunity to help children through sponsorship of Blessings in a Backpack Waukesha County Chapter.

Not only was Bank Five-Nine the presenting sponsor of Blessings in a Backpack’s annual Bridge the Gap Gala and Bolt 4 Blessings 4K Challenge, but they received the corporate 2021 “Champion for Children” award.

Its roots and commitment to build its community and support local families and businesses align with the work of the Blessings in a Backpack Waukesha County Chapter, which strives to address food insecurity among children by providing nutritious weekend food for kids on Fridays.

“As a true community bank, Bank Five-Nine enjoys the honor and the privilege to have a positive impact on our communities, and what greater impact can there be than supporting the need for children to have enough to eat,” said Mark W. Mohr, president, and CEO of Bank Five Nine.

Supporting these children is right in the neighborhood. Bank Five-Nine started in 1859 as a one-office bank on Main Street in Oconomowoc. It has evolved through several name changes to reflect its culture better and has grown to be a $1.5 billion community bank with 14 locations and nationwide commercial lending capabilities.

“We proudly sponsor events that enhance the vitality of our neighborhoods,” Mohr said. “Blessings in a Backpack serves our neighborhood families.”
