Bridge the Gap Gala
When Blessings in a Backpack raised $165,000 at its Bridge the Gap gala on October 14, 2021, it not only far surpassed its goal, but it also shattered a record for the most dollars raised at the event and achieved its highest attendance ever, with nearly 250 supporters in attendance.
Gala attendees enjoyed silent and live auctions, a gift card tree, a 50/50 raffle, and more. Generous businesses and individuals donated items and experiences for the event. The competition was friendly but fierce for live auction items. The items included the Oconomowoc pedal tavern, a Wine Maniacs 5 course dinner with wine pairings, in-suite Packers tickets with chauffeur, a VIP Brewers experience, in-suite Bucks tickets, a Milwaukee sailing experience, a Door County weekend getaway, and a stay and play golf package
Money raised at the gala stays local and helps fund Blessings programs that feed 3,600 school-aged children in 35 programs throughout Waukesha County.
